Happy St Patty's Day

~ IRISH BLESSING ~
May the roads rise to meet you,

May the winds be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

may God hold you in the hollow

of His hand.

Socks For my Mommy (wish I had more pics but it's been raining cats & dogs here and my lighting is ten shades of gloomy.)
Yarn: Cascade Heritage Hand Painted Sock Yarn
Color: 9824
Size 1 needle - Magic Loop

(No, we aren't Irish, but I sure would love to visit Ireland one day.)

Surprise, Surprise! My Sock Knitting Mojo has been revived! (I was beginning to wonder...)

These came out so soft and smooshy, I'm sure she's going to love them. I went a little longer than I usually do on the leg portion because I was just loving the colorway (the reason I bought an extra hank to work up my OWN socks one day!). Mom loves deep jewel tones. These should make her smile.

Last Saturday was another cold, miserable, WET day, but I still got out and went to my knitting meeting. What a great bunch of ladies and I love that they really work on meeting regularly. I'm jazzed about hooking up with them, Lord knows I NEED to get out more for sure. With all my pain issues I've turned into too much of a hermit I think (okay, I KNOW!) So this is a big deal for me. These meetings combine my two passions too: reading (we meet at a library) and knitting. Hot diggity dog. What could be better.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I may wear Mom's socks so I won't get pinched. Remember in school wearing it UNDER something so you could double pinch them back?

My girls better run.

~*~Lil Pink Schocks~*~

FINALLY.

These only took me about 4 months to finish!
Just a basic sock: 2x2 Ribbing on the leg portion and then straight along the foot.
Size 1 Magic Loop
Yarn: Fleece Artist Merino Sock Yarn in Raspberry

I have to confess, I had NO desire to finish these while working them up last fall. I seriously hit that knitting slump that a lot of knitters out there seemed to hit around the same time (verified by reading all the blogs I do). I love to knit, but there's a point when I need to do other things and a break is well worth it. It IS good to know I'm not alone though! And it's good to know my knitting sits and waits for me to feel the luv again.

I also finished a couple more Preemie Hats. These are so fun to make, I really enjoy the quickness of these and it's wonderful to know they'll be on some teeny wittle person soon.

Bernat Baby Softee
Size 3 Magic Loop
The Pink and White one I striped and the blue is a varigated yarn.
They just make me happy-happy.

Saturday was cold, rainy, and miserable, but I went to a knitting meeting anyway. I was worried that there would only be a few people (or just me!) but the room was pretty full by the time I got there. A lady I knew from an old knitting group was there so it was great to see a familiar face right when I walked in.

It's just amazing how totally different people, from different backgrounds, can get together in a room with some sticks and string and just fill the time with laughter and enjoyment. I'm really excited about this group since it's close to my house and they meet up twice a month. I also just found another group in town but their meetings are pretty far for me - but it's always nice to have options if I'm ever out that way.

Wonder of Wonders, the knitting break I took didn't include the purchase of yarn of course. No, that would never do. Here's some of my bounty:

I've been drooling for awhile over this tweedy Queensland Kathmandu Aran. I ordered some in Taupe and Burgundy. I want every color....but....you know how it is. These will hopefully be a hat for The Big Guy and some fingerless mitts for me!

It seems like EVERYBODY wants this stuff but I just loved the colors. For me, it's always about the colors....

Mini Mochi from Crystal Palace Yarns
Color 103.
It's fuzzier than I thought it would be, but it is soft....more fingerless mitts probably....

Knit Picks Essential Bordeaux Kettle Hand Dyed. Uh, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this color. I don't even want to use it, I just love to look at it.

That's all I have pics of right now. I have to slow down some on the purchases for sure. Times are pretty scary right now, but that's why you gotta have a little sunshine.

Happy Knitting.
