I Need A Knitting Boss

I wish I had someone to say "knit THIS with THIS yarn". Would I listen? That would be the question.

My girls are good at giving me some direction with my knitting, but it's most definitely my job to be the boss of them (though they test that theory almost every single day), so it's easy to say "ah, maybe..., maybe not". The Big Guy just stears clear of these types of conversations, he knows it's a never ending deal and I'll change my mind 100 times.

Why is it so hard to make "yarn" decisions sometimes? I want to use what I have, but then - I'll have to use what I have. Then I won't have it anymore. Well, I WILL, but not in that lovely twisted skein. I know, I'm crazy. (It's a full moon??) This is a totally quirky side to my personality. I hate to use things up. Silly me. I've always been like that, I often won't use the "last" of almost anything. Just so I'll still have it.

Have you seen this new yarn? I saw it in a recent knitting magazine and then checked out the site. It's an interesting way to sell sock yarn! I'd like to actually see these colorways in person tho, the pics aren't so great on my monitor. I read where someone said they'd most likely wind it in a ball to use anyway to get out the kinks. I'd have to see how kinky it was first I think. What I like is that it's almost another art form to view the colorway in. Kinda Cool.

Next year. I may just buy TWO of everything. That may just help make things easier.

OTN: Trying sock patterns for Mother's Day socks that probably won't be delivered by Mother's Day (luckily Mom is quite understanding).

I've got to try them too sometime. You might even get them done in time for mothers day because they are ankle socks! Let me know how you like the pattern.

Thanks for commenting Jeri! I started to read your blog and realized... I need more time for this! LOL! What a facinating life you lead with your scuba diving and all the places you've been to! Your post about that stray was so touching I wanted to cry. I'll be stopping by again for sure! :)

You're such a great friend Dawn to have faith in me getting socks done in time! LOL! Do you know how many times I've casted on for a pair for my Mom? FIVE so far...and I just realized that I did one side of my ML completely wrong, So now I'm up to six! I see plain ol stockinette in my future VERY soon...

I have a few sweater patterns I want to try, but I just stare at the stash not able to decide which yarn to use. But I've been a total zombie about my knitting lately. I've knit maybe 10 rows in the past month and then discovered I screwed up and have to unknit about 8 of them!

I saw that weird sock yarn discussed on the KR forum. Definitely interesting. I'd love to see it in person.

My Kindrind Spirit Anna! You always make me feel like I'm not alone in this madcap knitting universe! :) I keep hoping things will get better, and darn it, I have WAY too much yarn for it not to! LOL!!

Glad to have a knitting kindrid spirit! It really does make me feel better about it all.

Still haven't gone back to the knitting though. I don't really want to start anything new until I finish the three projects I have going right now, but they aren't speaking to me and I can't bear to unknit anything else right now!
