Honoring Our Veterans

These are the planes that The Big Guy used to work on.

He served in the USAF as a jet engine mechanic at the 144th Fighter Wing. Everytime I go back to Fresno and see and hear those planes flying overhead (they are LOUD and they are FAST), my heart just skips a beat with pride. They fly side by side and what they represent is freedom to me. Protection. Patriotism. Man are they awesome.

We have quite a military family on both sides. We're very proud of all of them who have served and continue to serve. Even in peace time it's stressful for those who know they could be called away for tours anytime, but especially in times likes these and in years past when things are turmultuous, we especially have them in our prayers.

Thank You Veterans.

Tell The Big Guy thanks for me! This is such a great post. It's important to remember our veterans. My father was an MP in the USAF during Vietnam. He would tell me stories about the hostile welcome home he received from the protestors. It was sad. When he was alive and we lived near each other, we'd go together to put flowers and flags on the veterans' graves and watch the parades. I miss those days with my dad.

Awesome post! I see these planes everyday with all the aerospace around me...Edward Air Force Base, Lockheed, Northrup, etc. My grandpa was in WW11 and my dad was in Vietnam. We've been to see the memorial wall and its just...it makes you speechless. hugs

My FIL is a Vietnam vet as well. Some of his stories are so scary and hard to imagine living thru, I'm so thankful for all the brave men and women who went through so much for us.

My inlaws went to DC last year to visit the Wall. It was very touching for them. They somehow were filmed by Fox News too (Just for a second but it was still a cool way to remember their trip!).

I've seen fighter jets flying above ONE time since we've been here in TN. When I go home to Fresno I always look for them! :O)

((Hugs Anna & Dawn!))
And Happy Veterans Day to Jeanne too!!!!
