To be or not to be...

That's my question.

I just finished one sock out of Regenwald Opal in the Flamingo colorway and I can't decide if I want to work up the second one. The cast on row is just sitting there waiting for me to decide.

I know from past experience that this yarn knits up like "sandpaper" to me personally. Some yarns improve over time, but this doesn't seem to be one of them for me. I couldn't help it, this colorway grabbed me at a LYS about a year ago and when you're in a hurry things like that can happen. More and more I'm discovering that my yarn purchases are smarter when I take my time and think things over. Being impulsive has it's consequences. The yarn diet has has made me reflect on a lot of things and I'm doing so much better but I still have to deal with the unwise choices from my stash! Oh well, live and learn. It's all good.
I guess I'll give this sock a nice bath to see if it gets any softer before I make up my mind.

I have found that Opal still feels like sandpaper to my feet even after a wash. Kinda like with Magic Stipes. I am thinking that would be ok for some fingerless gloves tho. I too am not impressed with Opal.

Especially after knitting with some Lorna's!

I've never used Opal yarn so I can't comment on that, but I can tell you that I've made some unwise yarn purchases in my time, especially when I first started knitting. You live, you learn. I still like the color of that yarn, though.
